This Bishop may be right, but I cant help but think about all of the people in the congregation struggling with the fact that this is not the worldly song its the recreated one. God is the creator of everything, He is the originator so why would we recreate something meant for the world and offer it up to him for praise. God is original and I think he wants original material. God made us in his likness so we all have creativity in us, so lets be original.

How sad it is that someone in his capacity feels it is okay to sing secular music to the Lord. God does NOT need us to revert back to music created in the world in order to reach people. He also does not need love songs. The old saying, action speaks louder than words, works here too. If we love Him, we will keep His commandments. He also says that if any man be in Him, he is a NEW creature, old things are passed away (i.e., secular music) and behold ALL things are brand new. Until we decide that we do not need worldly methods to reach people with the message of Christ, the world will never change. God demands that we be peculiar, set apart from man that has not accepted Him as their Lord and Savior. If he(we) continues down this path, how is he(we) any different than the man on the street?

Thank you Bishop for having the courage in the pulpit to communicate to those in the world and not just those in the sanctuary. The changed words and Jesus being put in the place of, changes to the tone of the song completely. God is omnipotent and omnipresent - He is all things at all times and is everywhere at the same time. We fail to realize that God is in the world. Christians want to separate the world from God and you CAN NOT! God will not separate Himself from the world, so why do people try to do this. If we know He is in total control, who are we to think that we can remove him. God looks forward to a “renewal” of spirit, mind and body. He does not only want the original, He also wants the old and even the recreated version. Besides, He is the originator, the Creator of it all! I thank God for repentence and forgiveness. I thank God for accepting the re-created version of things - had He not, considering I was born into sin, as we all are, I may not have been a Christian today. I give God all of the Glory, Praise and Honor! I am saddened by the thoughts that God does not accept a “secular song meant for the world that was cleaned up and renewed to show love and honor to Him”. We really don’t know God!

Bishop Lester Love seems like a real nice easy going person. I imagine he would be welcomed in my home on Saturday nights to jam with my husband and his jazz band and enjoy some fried plantains and goat tasso and spritzers in true Christian fellowship. But: my brother bishop has no church etiquette. It would not be such a grave faux pas had he not been the leader of the church. I cannot reconcile my better judgment to his inducing of all the congregation in this sort of carrying on, while some members clearly looked uncomfortable. My guiding portion of the Holy Spirit is not pleased with that. Although this bishop may be bubbly, happy, and even good, self-control is the key to surrendering to Jesus. Behave and be responsible, Bishop. it is high time that you are scolded because I trust that you know better. God Bless.

I absolulety love the idea of turning a secular song into Worship for God. We were created to give him praise, we were created to worship. Old time Gospel vs. Secular, who really cares? I think that the verse above is comment enough. Why teach youth and adults to come out from amongst them if we bring them into the place of worship. WOW!!! First of all I just want to say how sad this is. What happen to the holiness in our worship. When we sing to God, we are not trying to entertain ourselves. We are suppose to be glorifying God by sending up worship that is which is an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. They were not singing to God but to the god of thereselves. We do not just choose anything to give to God and think He will accept it. Look at Cain and Able. Its like dressing up vomit and give it as a gift. We sing unto the Lord with pureness of heart and with holy songs and hymns. I do believe that the songs that where sung where created with the purpose and intention to entice fornication. It was developed with fleshly and lustful motivation. Bishop, I believe that it does matter and all love songs are not of God. If you need a love song that shows how much you love him, I think you would create songs in your heart with the right intent and motivation. Do not use the same songs that caused you lust after women which may have led to fornication to just change a few words around (not the Melody) and give it to God. David is the greatest example of a worshipper. David created beautiful love songs from his heart. He never used the enemies songs and changed them around. He knew God deserved better. Please understand what true worship is. It is not selfish but self-less. Only true the worshippers will worship Him in spirit and in truth. God bless

Because the people do not know the ways of God, they are led astray. What the Pastor did is not pleasing to God, but it is pleasing to the flesh.
We as black people have a long history of mixing the holy with the profane. That is why so few of us have any discernment as to what is good and proper worship and praise to God. But God is good and He still loves us, and may He keep us for His glory.

We as Christians must be careful as to what and whom we listen (Colossians 2:8, 1 Thessalonians 5:12; KJV, NIV). Ephesians 5:1-20 teaches us how to walk in this life as a child of light and that light of course is Jesus. These are the last days and Jesus told us the occurrences of the last days and we can see them all around us (Matthew 24). For further reading I found other scriptures that deal with walking in the spirit and the works of the spirit. (Corinthians 6:14-18; Galatians 5:1, 16-26; Acts 2:1-4, 38-41; 19:1-7).

Avoided watching yesterday, felt lead to view today, Bishop Love your word was for me I stopped going to church because of hypocrits and currently sitting home feeling empty, I need to be reunited with my first and true love...God the father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit...thank you for sharing this experience...

we as christians are meant to be a light into darkness when bishop lester love was singing those songs it was bringing a sense of nostalgia not the love of christ in the bible it says watch your eyes and your ear gates as a result we as christian listen to this that gives god the glory sometimes im at a lost for words in a go to god in prayer so i just say his name jesus or i can look in the book of psalms to find a prayer we re in the last days this is not a time to straddle the fence little things the this can get us farther and farther away from christ THIS IS A MEDIA OUTLET IS MEANT TO DRAW PEOPLE TO CHIRST BY SINGING THESE SONGS IT TELLS THEM THAT HERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE WAY THERE LIVING i pray that who ever reads this understands what im trying to say and its coming from a place of love and not judgement

So who are we promoting Alicia Keys? The music represents the kingdom of darkness. The kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of God are opposing forces. We must be careful of the seeds we sow. Are we merging with the world to satisfy emotions.Sign of the times. Thats what secular music does soothe the emotions. I dont think singing Holy, Holy, Holy would have gotten the same response. Lets be real. We are in a spiritual warfare and that is not going to attack or destroy the works of the enemy. Lets promote prayer and personal relationship, Getting in Gods face then you wouldnt see a need to borrow from alicia keys. The holy spirit will give me a song not Alicia Keys. Sorry if this is too deep for some. But these are perilous times. Believers we are the salt of the earth. But what good is it if the salt loses its flavor.
